Wayne Donnelly

Wayne has a First class honours degree in Civil Engineering from Canterbury University. His career started in the public sector with the Auckland Regional Authority and the Northland Harbour Board.

Wayne’s private sector experience includes being on the design team for North Sea Oil tanker terminals, project management on the construction of the Hong Kong mass transit system and during the 1980’s general manager of Green & McCahill Contractors Ltd. in New Zealand.

During the 1990’s Wayne held various senior positions at Auckland City Council where the Viaduct Basin development and Britomart became career challenges. He was CEO of Rodney District Council for three years before joining Transfund as Chief Executive in March 2003.

Wayne has also been a local government politician for 15 years and was awarded the 1990 New Zealand Commemorative medal for services to New Zealand.
