Futurist, corporate philosopher, company
director and author, Dr Richard David Hames is internationally recognized for
his revolutionary approach to strategic leadership. Richard was educated in
Europe, and, in 1983, after distinguished careers in medicine, music and
academia in both the UK and Australia, he was appointed Group Chief Executive
to Arts Media International in London. Subsequently, he guided the Australian
Film Television & Radio School through a period of fundamental change to
the very forefront of current educational and management practice.
Richard was responsible for developing the Strategic Navigation methodology – an
entirely fresh approach to “real time” strategic practice now being implemented
in organizations in Australia, South Africa, USA, France and UK – and is also
the co-designer of ‘Beyond Leadership’ – a new style of collaborative
leadership performance being piloted by a number of Australian companies,
government departments and NGOs.
Richard is the author of the highly acclaimed books ‘The Management Myth:
Exploring the Essence of Future Organizations’ and ‘Burying the 20th Century –
New Paths to New Futures.’ He is the co-founder of Global Business Network
Australia, Honorary President of The Hames Group, Chairman of Australia
Tomorrow and an international authority on strategic intelligence,
organizational ecology and systemic development. An adviser to innovative
corporations and mentor to influential business leaders, he has been honoured
with many awards. These include a French Government Scholarship, a Leverhulme
European Fellowship, the Mondadori Professorial Fellowship and the inaugural
Lord Attlee Fellowship.
