Hekia Parata
|
|
 Hekia Parata is the Deputy Secretary,
Policy,Te Puni Kokiri, a position she has held since May 2004. She returned to
the Public Service to take up this position after a 12 year period in the
private sector where she worked for a multinational company and then founded
and managed her own business. Prior to this sabbatical from the state sector,
she had worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry for the
Environment, the Prime Minister’s Advisory Group, Housing Corporation of New
Zealand, Te Puni Kokiri, the State Services Commission and the Institute of
Policy Studies.
Hekia is of Ngati Porou and Ngai Tahu descent.
