The DevCon 2010 programme is available here.
The conference theme for 2010 is: “Performance Improvement - Leading
through tough times”
DevCon 2010 will focus on key challenges that senior leaders face as they
seek to lift State sector performance, improve delivery of services to New
Zealanders and collectively respond to the Government’s priorities for 2010. The
conference will give participants the chance to gain common knowledge and
understanding of these challenges they are facing as senior leaders,
opportunities to share ideas and thinking with international and New Zealand
authorities, and time for discussion and debate on how they might individually
and collectively lead successful changes that enhance performance.
The programme will include a number of keynote presentations that highlight
aspects of this theme. These presentations include:
-
An Opening Keynote address by Rob Fyfe, CEO of Air New Zealand, on leading
organisational change in times of economic and fiscal constraint
-
A Morning Keynote address by Guy
Gordon, Executive Director, Canadian Institute for Citizen-Centred
Service, on using data and feedback to lead improved delivery of services
-
An Afternoon Keynote address by Al
Morrison, Chief Executive of the Department of Conservation, on
prioritising for the future
-
A Closing Keynote address by Robyn
Hart, previously Engagement Leader at ASB Bank, on driving improved
performance through employee engagement
-
A Closing address by State Services Commissioner Iain Rennie.
In addition, we will present four case studies of agency initiatives and
programmes that showcase efforts to successfully improve State sector and
organisational performance and the delivery of services, while also facing the
reality of operating in a period of economic and fiscal constraint
DevCon 2010 also will feature interactive workshop sessions that will give
participants the chance to actively share thinking on key challenges highlighted
in various presentations at the conference, and to collaborate on developing
potential ways to attack the issues and achieve results.
